Bangladesh will get two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine from India as gift in addition to the purchased ones from the Serum Institute India (SII).
The gift jab will arrive in the country tomorrow, said Prof Dr ABM Khurshid Alam, director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on Monday.
Meanwhile, without mentioning the quantity, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said the Indian government will send some vaccine doses to Bangladesh as gift.
While speaking at the ‘Meet the Reporters’ event organised by Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) at its auditorium, he declined to disclose the date of the arrival of the jab, saying they expect the vaccine will arrive soon.

UMERKOT (Dunya News) - All is set to hold by-election in PS-52 Umerkot-II tomorrow (Monday).
Total 12 candidates are in the field, while main contest is expected between Syed Ameer Ali Shah of PPP and Arbab Ghulam Rahim of GDA. The seat fell vacant after the death of Syed Ali Mardan Shah.
One hundred 28 polling stations and 423 polling booths have been setup in the constituency for the purpose.
